Absalom Boar, a boar, owned the boarding house at 14 Kettle Lane. On Tuesday evening he was found at the foot of his own back stairs. The back of his head was broken. The brass doorstop that lived on the landing is not where it lives. It had rained hard between half past six and five past seven, and the house was shut against it. Four people were under that roof. That is the whole of what you have been given.
